September Review and A Year and a Half

Grandma and Aunt Sarah also made a midweek visit.

September: Vince spent his first weekend without Mom and Dad. He was with G&G in NH. He didn't show any signs of missing us. But we missed him.
Mom turned 34, she spent the morning with Vince, then Daddy took V to the Children's Museum and Mommy went to play with her girlfriends.
Morning birthday coffe and playdough.
water table at the Children's Museum. Already an expert on "bub-bles" Vince got to do some more experimenting.

1.5 years old Vince on the keyboard.
Vince feeds the fish and reminds Daddy when they need feeding.
Vince also likes to drive now that he's older. Getting in and out of the car is no longer easy. He puts up a fight when he finds out he is not driving. He will stiffen up so we can't get him in the carseat, he will cry, he will move his little bent arms as if he is stearing. So at the end of the day when we arrive in our driveway we sit in the car for a bit as Vince pushes all the buttons and puts on the blinkers, windsheild wipers, hazards, etc.
Vince may be heard saying: "Mine!" "Cook Key" - when he says it, it is clearly 2 seperate words that together mean cookie, once he said "mine cook key", "bike", "Peter" - his favorite book right now is Peter and the Wolf, "bubble", "baby", "tar" - pointing to a guitar, "tata" or something like that is aunt Sarah, "ba-ba" is his pacifier, "pee-pee", "yucky", and still everyday there is a lot of "ap-ple" and "cah". Uses his sign language still for water, milk, more, eat, wash hands, Grandma got a sign for please.
He understands everything we say. He can point to all the animals and objecgts we ask him to in the book. Makes a snort like a pig, a neigh like a horse. Flaps his arms like a monkey.
Waves bye bye to everyone.
Blows his nose and puts the tissue in the trash.
He's got 14 teeth!
Some moments not to forget:
--It is routine now before we go in the house that we sit on the stoop. Vince initiated this. He is a city boy after my own heart. He will invite me to sit with him by patting the step. And he will sit there and watch the cars until I force him into the house.
--Every morning when I say let's go, he picks up his lunch box, heads for the door and asks "cah?". When we arrive at day care he runs through the gate, so excited. His school mates greet him on the other side of the gate, "hi Vincent" or "hi Bincent". He's a popular guy. He runs into his teacher's arms. When I arrive to pick him up I spy on him playing, then his school mates yell, "Vincent your mom's here". And he runs to greet me.
--Sometimes he'll grab a book, take my hand and lead me to bed.

after apple picking

And here's V last weekend eating apples and reading with Gramma.
(Yes, Vince has done a lot of cooking this summer in his diaper. Thanks to Aunt Sarah and Uncle Chi for the stove.)
