We made dinosaur cookies from scratch today. Our dinos were Petrie, Little Foot, Chomper and Spike from the Land Before Time, which we both love.

I usually have a lot of patience, but I think I'm going to wait a few years before we do this again:)

this week

We've done some decorating and mess making. A full apartment tour to come when all is picked up. Just above is the main room with our desks, toys, living and dining area. Everything fits just right, I'm calling it efficient.

It's been a beautiful sunny and warm week of playgrounds, picnics at the playgrounds and more playgrounds with new friends Maggie the Mom and Gabbie. Gabbie always says she's a mermaid, while Vince is anything from a baby gorilla to a "bad lion", a "bad dinosaur" or a fire truck. We've done a lot of walking and playing together. They have been showing us the best playgrounds, sharing their snacks and hints to navigating our new city and been great company. We spent 3 days with them this week - I can't believe they aren't sick of us.

Learning the ABCs. Vince really enjoys learning the letters and words that start with each. Watched Go Diego Go. Lots of puzzles on the kitchen floor. Some dance parties. We've checked out some day cares. Games with Dad on the computer and iPhone(iFart isn't so much a game as it is an annoying boy thing I guess he must learn). Got a flu shot and continue to give each other pretend shots and little O bandaids. And lots of fresh fruit from the farmers market.

Vince has been heard saying:

"do you need to be rescued?" meaning, quick make up a scenario like you are falling off a mountain or a T rex is coming to get you, so I can save you.

"what's the problem with you?" (I can only assume this comes from Mike or I saying, "what's your problem?")

"Just kidding." for example, in the morning, "mommy I want a vitamin", so I go get him a vitamin and then he says "just kidding" and won't eat the vitamin.

When I asked if I could carry his library books and dvds "No thanks, I have muscles".

"What did I just say?!" - he says it in the correct context and tone!

Actually everything he says at this point is a whopper, I'm just too worn out to think of more. Lots of love, MMV

On Top of San Francisco

Here we are on top of another hill in San Fran, Corona Heights Hill, a rocky hill.

At Fishermen's Wharf for seafood - Vince ate crab. Which turned him into a pinching crab all night. Dad had to be a lobster and mommy a shark.
No, our apartment isn't on fire again.

It's the model train set up at the Randall Museum, this awesome little museum of art and science in San Fran. But yes, this is a real barn owl.The museum takes care of animals that can no longer live in nature. This guy has 2 broken wings.
Vince liked petting the duck and rabbits. And looking at the bat, hawk, huge raven, snakes and turtles. He didn't like looking at the roaches.

Korean for Dad's Birthday

We celebrated Dad's birthday at a Korean restaurant last night (at "China Land"). Along with the side dishes that come with all the meals they brought us 2 fried fish - as in - they took 2 fish, skin, eyes and all, and just fried them and put them on a plate. Mike and I looked at each other in shock. Then w/out missing a beat Vince picked one up plopped it on his plate, picked the other up plopped it on my plate and said "Mommy, can you cut it for me?". He was serious. Mike picked around the bones for him and Vince ate it. He also ate the beef ribs and spicey pork.

Since he was eating a FISH. Mike told him beef was from a cow. I thought it might be a bad idea that Mike revealed this. But no, Vince ate the beef ribs, then played with the bone like it was a toy cow - it moo-ed and had a barn under V's placemat.

Flip Flap and Fly (Petrie the dinosour sings)

Birch Tree Baby, I had this one lined up for today too. Traditional End of the Year get together with Dave and Amy and Judy and Ron.
Snow ball fight.

Men in stripes. Dave was silly enough to ask Vince why he didn't have a beard. Can't get one past V, "because I'm a little boy".

Group by the sea.

Tug Boat Blues, by V.
Ended the seaside day back in NH with a lobster dinner.

We are settling in nicely in California. Still working on the jet lag though. Mike picked us a great apartment. Still working on unpacking though. The three of us had a lot of fun the first week of January exploring. Pictures to come, my computer is at the doctor with the photos.
